A multiple graded stakes winner on the track, Evening Attire racked up earnings of more than $2.9 million in his 69 career starts. The gelded son of Black Tie Affair won nine graded stakes, including the 2002 Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1), and placed in 13 other graded stakes before retiring with a record of 15-16-9 at age 10.
His last race was a win in the listed Greenwood Cup Stakes at Philadelphia Park in July 2008. He then made his way to TAA-accredited Akindale Thoroughbred Rescue, where he’d stayed as an ambassador until his death in January 2019.
