The Jockey Club Thoroughbred Incentive Program (T.I.P.), which encourages the retraining of Thoroughbreds into other disciplines upon completion of careers in racing or breeding, announced the winners and other placings from its 2019 performance awards program April 16.
The performance awards recognize Thoroughbreds accumulating the most points at all horse shows in each of the T.I.P. award categories and divisions throughout the year.
In the TAA Adoptee Division, where horses are eligible if they were adopted from a TAA-accredited organization, CANTER Michigan graduate Green Mouse swept the division. The Cherokee Run gelding also took top prize in the TIP Dressage Division.
Next in the TAA Adoptee Division was Nickelacross from New Vocations in second, with last year’s TAA Adoptee winner Blackjack N Beers, of Southern California Thoroughbred Rescue, in third. Maker’s Mark Secretariat Center grad Little Latin Lulu took fourth, New Vocations’ A Hotty At Noon in fifth, and rounding out the top six was Truely Quick also from New Vocations.
