HOLIDAY DESIGNER SHOW HOUSE AT CHESTNUT HALL TO BENEFIT THE THOROUGHBRED RETIREMENT FOUNDATION The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation will open the doors of the historic house, once again, at TRF Sanctuary at Chestnut Hall this December with a Holiday Designer Show House to benefit the organization’s herd of nearly 450 retired racehorses.  The historic farmhouse will be grandly decorated inside and out with exquisite décor by Cherry House Galleries, KP Design, Hound & Hare LLC, Jason Jennings Interior, Debhelin Designs, Libby H Design Studio, Living Spaces, Little Mount Lavender Company, Julia Carstanjen, Mandeline Hetzel Interiors, and All Lit Up. This event is being staffed by volunteers and friends of the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation. The event will run from Friday, December 2nd through December 10th and the house will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily. This year’s event has been expanded to include the entire farmhouse and the barn. Tickets are $25 in advance and can be purchased at www.trfinc.org or for $30 at the door. Kicking off the nine-day event, will be a Preview Night Party on Thursday, December 1, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.  Guests will enjoy cocktails, heavy hors d’oeuvres, seasonal entertainment, an exclusive tour of the historic farm hour and an opportunity to meet some of our designers.  Tickets for the Preview event are $75. The TRF Sanctuary Farm at Chestnut Hall, located on 25 picturesque acres in Prospect, Kentucky, opened in April of 2021 and is home to 10 retired Thoroughbred racehorses. The farm has hosted numerous events since opening and has welcomed thousands of visitors through tours with Visit Horse Country. Amy Parker from McCauley Feeds will be there to help everyone learn more about general equine nutrition before breaking out the baking sheets! Amy will be sharing recommended feeding practices, and the best treat options for your equine friends. They'll be baking up some goodies for the CKRH herd, then delivering a treat to some very deserving ponies. There is no cost, but donations are appreciated.    EVERYBUNNY WELCOME!  Come join Central Kentucky Riding for Hope on Saturday, April 8th, 10am for a hopping good time! They're hunting eggs, and welcome all individuals with disabilities and their siblings to join in the fun. The outdoor arena will be setup for hunters with low vision to find eggs in an area without a lot of distractions, contrasting colors, and level footing. A grassy, fenced paddock for hunters who need close supervision, and a big open field for siblings to hunt who may not need special accommodations. Can’t come, but still want to contribute? CKRH is seeking donations of plastic eggs, candy, and other goodies to use at the event! Donations may be dropped off at the barn anytime during the week.
