Breeders’ Cup World Championships

Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will be present at Santa Anita Park this year for the 40th running of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, set to be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, and Saturday, November 4, 2023. Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance is one of the official charities, and the Official Aftercare Partner of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships. Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will have a booth set up during both days of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, where patrons are encouraged to stop by to learn more about accredited aftercare. Branded merchandise will be available in exchange for a donation. California Retirement Management Account (CARMA) will also be on-site and will have a retrained Thoroughbred at Santa Anita that fans can meet up close and in person. In addition to Friday and Saturday, Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will also be on-site Thursday morning during the early morning workouts near the famous Clocker’s Corner with branded merchandise and to answer questions about accredited aftercare. Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will also be represented with named races on both days of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships. On Friday, The FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Juvenile presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (G1) will close out the day. On Saturday, Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will have a named race, The Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Stakes (G2). Following both races, Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will be present at the Winner’s Circle to do a presentation to the winning connections. Post times for both races are to be determined. As part of FanDuel’s commitment to supporting accredited Thoroughbred aftercare, the sports-wagering digital cable and satellite television network has made a generous donation of $100,000 to Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.

Judged Trail Ride

SAVE THE DATE! Our popular Judged Trail Ride will be held on Sunday, November 19th at the farm Open to horses and riders of all ages, shapes, and sizes. Try your skill along a marked trail with 10-15 obstacles in the fields and woods bordering the rescue and the Sassafras River. Tackle the trail with friends in groups of 3-5 riders. Riders receive a score of 0-10 points for each obstacle. Certain obstacles will have a higher degree of difficulty and will be worth double points. Obstacle judges will explain each obstacle as you arrive. Horses will be judged on calm successful completion of each obstacle. Simply attempting an obstacle will be given a “1”- Bypassing an obstacle will be given a “0”. In the event of a tie, tie will be broken by the rider with the higher scores at the double pointed obstacles. Ride is NOT timed. First group goes out at 10:00 AM, last at 1:00 PM– groups go out every 20 minutes. Please arrive and be ready to ride any time between 10:00 AM-1:00 PM. Ribbons 1st-6th for the top placings in each division. You may enter three divisions that you are eligible for- your first ride will be judged and that score will be used for placings in each division entered. Divisions: Junior Rider (under 18), Young Adult Rider (18-30), Adult Rider (31-60) Older & Wiser ( 61 & up), Green Horse (any horse or pony 5 yrs & under or TBs less than 1 year off the track), Thoroughbred, Non Thoroughbred, Adopted (Any breed, bring proof of adoption), MAHR Grad, English Tack, Western/Aussie/Other Tack. This promises to be a FUN day, with ribbons 1st-6th and free refreshments. Overall High Point and Reserve High Point ribbon for the horse/rider with the best score of the day. Negative Coggins within one year required. Securely fastened ASTM-SEI Helmets and Proper Footwear MANDATORY- NO EXCEPTIONS. Fee $50- for up to three divisions. 11th Annual Out Side In 5k Turkey Trot

Grab your friends and family for a fun "trot" before the Thanksgiving Day feast! Out Side In is hosting our 10th Annual 5K fundraiser downtown Grand Haven, Michigan. This 5K is family and kid friendly.  All of the proceeds of this race will support our Heroes for Horses program for Veterans suffering from PTSD. Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will be in attendance as the Official Charity for the 53rd annual Eclipse Awards, set to begin at 7:30 PM EST on January 25, 2024 at The Breakers Palm Beach in Florida. Hosted by the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA), this event celebrates the racing champions of 2023 and highlights the excellence of Thoroughbreds in the sport. Furthermore, the National Thoroughbred Racing Association organized a 'Sip, Shop, and Support' event, with three participating stores generously donating a percentage of their proceeds to Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance. The stores are Lilly Pulitzer, J. Mclaughlin, and Oumere. Additionally, Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will hold a raffle featuring select items from these stores, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting their cause. Store hours are scheduled from 12 PM to 3 PM.
