Calling all 9-14 year old horse crazy kids to Castle Rock Farm! Take part in Hope’s Legacy’s Horsemanship Program led by our equine experts. Our staff will guide your child through learning all things equine from breed, color, and horse type to grooming and general care. This is a time to be hands-on with their favorite animal in a friendly, fun environment that will expand their knowledge working from the ground. Activities include learning body language, appropriate handling, and grooming. Registration is required. Please email Sarah at programs@hopeslegacy.com to sign up.

Dust off your dancing shoes and get ready to sway to live music, learn some lively line dancing moves, and enjoy the company of friends, old and new. Giving Tuesday at Hope’s Legacy is all about the HAY (and a little friendly competition)! Each year, Hope’s Legacy Equine Rescue prepares for winter by stocking up on a critical resource - hay -that ensures our equines have the food they need to stay healthy on the coldest of days. So, we divide into teams supporting our favorite equines for #GIVINGHAYDAY on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. We call on our amazing community to choose your favorite team and equine by donating to the hay fund. There will be prizes, perks, and plenty of fun as we battle each other to be the winning team. Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance's Stacie Clark-Rogers has been announced as a speaker at the 50th annual Global Symposium on Racing, held from December 9 to 11, 2024, at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson. Join us on Wednesday, December 11, to hear her insights on what the future holds for Thoroughbred aftercare! In addition, Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will have an information booth Monday through Wednesday in the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, where patrons can learn more about accredited aftercare. Since 2021, This Old Horse and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Equine Studies program partnered in an annual class offering called Racehorse Retraining. Off-track Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds are matched with students who partner in the 12-week course that ends with a ‘show what you know’ showcase and adoption auction. Students audition for spots in the class and learn the skills and techniques needed to transition a horse from a racehorse to a sport horse. Students are required to complete midterm and final sales videos for their assigned horse to learn marketing techniques.
