  The NOT TO BE MISSED music event is back! The Days End Farm annual benefit concert welcomes back to Maryland's premier horse farm, The 19th Street Band with friends, Patty Reese & Band, on the front lawn at the new Arts & Education Pavilion affectionately called "The Hitching Post". This years concert will pay tribute to Day End Farm's late founder, Kathy Schwartz-Howe, who passed away earlier this year where they'll honor her incredible legacy throughout the farm and with music. Enjoy popular food trucks, beer & wine, lawn games, and farm tours to meet the rescue horses – there is something for the whole family!! Book a day out in the country (at our Woodbine, MD facility) and watch the sunset over our fields, while swaying to the music of arguably 2 of the best groups of musicians in the area! Enjoy yourself while knowing ALL money raised goes to the horses and allows us to continue life-saving work in the community. What can I expect? Maybe the horses will even talk back to the film : ) Let the aroma of the last night of summer and the sweet sound of horses nearby fill the air as you sit back and watch the show. Every year, this event benefits the Virginia Thoroughbred Project (VTP), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the aftercare of these magnificent animals. The VTP, located on the historic grounds of James Madison’s Montpelier, is committed to providing a lifetime of tranquility for Thoroughbreds whose racing careers were cut short by injury or who were not suitable for the demanding sport. With their tireless efforts, the VTP ensures these horses receive the care, love, and support they need and by attending their Annual Barn Party, you will directly contribute to the VTP’s mission and join them in setting the gold standard for Thoroughbred aftercare in Virginia.

A path of luminaries will represent our lost loved-ones and each attendee will have the option to walk the path with or without a therapy horse. Refreshments will be provided

Woodbine Entertainment is pleased to welcome and recognize Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance and LongRun Thoroughbred Retirement Society as part of the third annual Aftercare Alliance Day, this Sunday, October 8, at Woodbine Racetrack. Representatives from Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will present the winning trophy for the Nearctic Stakes, and LongRun Thoroughbred Retirement Society representatives will do the same for the Algonquin Stakes. In 2022, the International Forum for the Aftercare of Racehorses recognized Woodbine’s efforts to bring attention and support Thoroughbred aftercare at its annual conference.

Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will be present this year at Maryland Million Day on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will be recognized, along with Maryland Jockey Club, with a named race on Maryland Million Day: The Maryland Jockey Club Stakes to Benefit Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance. Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will also be on-site as part of the VIP experience that was auctioned off earlier this year in the “Off to the Races” campaign, designed to promote the awareness of accredited aftercare.
