Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga Partners with The American Legion Adirondack Post 70 to provide Free Italian meals to Veterans and their families provided by Rosina Food Products and The Bread Basket Bakery! Saratoga Springs, NY – Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga (THS), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Veterans through Equine Therapy, is proud to announce its partnership with The American Legion Adirondack Post 70, Rosina Food Products, and The Bread Basket Bakery. Together, we offer a heartfelt gesture of gratitude to our nation's Veterans by providing them with a free Italian meal. In recognition of the sacrifices made by our Veterans and their invaluable service to our country, Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga (THS) and the American Legion Adirondack Post 70 have joined forces to host a special event at The American Legion Adirondack Post 70 location. This event will take place on November 16th, where Veterans and their families are invited to enjoy a delicious Italian meal, provided with care and expertise by Rosina Food Products and complimented with a bountiful salad and dessert platter from The Bread Basket Bakery. This event is open to all Veterans and their families in our community. Reservations are required, and space is limited so be sure to secure your spot! Veterans are encouraged to come and share this special meal with fellow service members in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Representatives from THS will be providing information regarding their free Equine Therapy services offered to all service members AND their families year-round! Judged Trail Ride

SAVE THE DATE! Our popular Judged Trail Ride will be held on Sunday, November 19th at the farm Open to horses and riders of all ages, shapes, and sizes. Try your skill along a marked trail with 10-15 obstacles in the fields and woods bordering the rescue and the Sassafras River. Tackle the trail with friends in groups of 3-5 riders. Riders receive a score of 0-10 points for each obstacle. Certain obstacles will have a higher degree of difficulty and will be worth double points. Obstacle judges will explain each obstacle as you arrive. Horses will be judged on calm successful completion of each obstacle. Simply attempting an obstacle will be given a “1”- Bypassing an obstacle will be given a “0”. In the event of a tie, tie will be broken by the rider with the higher scores at the double pointed obstacles. Ride is NOT timed. First group goes out at 10:00 AM, last at 1:00 PM– groups go out every 20 minutes. Please arrive and be ready to ride any time between 10:00 AM-1:00 PM. Ribbons 1st-6th for the top placings in each division. You may enter three divisions that you are eligible for- your first ride will be judged and that score will be used for placings in each division entered. Divisions: Junior Rider (under 18), Young Adult Rider (18-30), Adult Rider (31-60) Older & Wiser ( 61 & up), Green Horse (any horse or pony 5 yrs & under or TBs less than 1 year off the track), Thoroughbred, Non Thoroughbred, Adopted (Any breed, bring proof of adoption), MAHR Grad, English Tack, Western/Aussie/Other Tack. This promises to be a FUN day, with ribbons 1st-6th and free refreshments. Overall High Point and Reserve High Point ribbon for the horse/rider with the best score of the day. Negative Coggins within one year required. Securely fastened ASTM-SEI Helmets and Proper Footwear MANDATORY- NO EXCEPTIONS. Fee $50- for up to three divisions. 11th Annual Out Side In 5k Turkey Trot

Grab your friends and family for a fun "trot" before the Thanksgiving Day feast! Out Side In is hosting our 10th Annual 5K fundraiser downtown Grand Haven, Michigan. This 5K is family and kid friendly. All of the proceeds of this race will support our Heroes for Horses program for Veterans suffering from PTSD. Learn more about the Heroes for Horses program here. Can't join us in person or plan to saddle up for this 5k? You can still support the cause by signing up for the virtual race! Pre-Registration Includes: Each participant will receive a t-shirt, horseshoe participation medal, and a certificate for free ice cream from Sweet Temptations! In-Person Registration Includes: Each participant will receive a horseshoe participation medal! T-shirts will be available until we run out. Inventory of t-shirts nor your size is guaranteed. Virtual Registration Includes: Each participant will receive a t-shirt and horseshoe participation medal Event details and schedule IN PERSON RACE Race starts at 8:30am. Registration opens at 7:30am the day of the race. Racers that have pre-registered are required to pick up their packet the day before the race. Pick-up times and dates will be emailed out at the begining of November. Packets will be availale for pick up at Out Side In's facility, 12511 152nd Avenue in Grand Haven. Course will start and finish at the YMCA's parking area. Please use the Y parking lot for parking, registration will be set up there. Be sure to dress weather appropriately! The course does bring us down Harbor Drive near the state park, in years past it's gotten quite icey around there if it's raining/snowing. Not in town? Run the race virtually! Register through the Active website, then send us a picture of your running your route! VIRTUAL RACE Submit photos of you and your group to our facebook page! There will be prizes for the participant(s) Who ran or rode from the farthest away Had the biggest family or friend group running or riding together Ran or rode the most unique route! You can run anytime or any place between when you register and Sunday November, 26. T-shirts, medals and prizes will be mailed after the closing of the race.
