Every year, this event benefits the Virginia Thoroughbred Project (VTP), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the aftercare of these magnificent animals. The VTP, located on the historic grounds of James Madison’s Montpelier, is committed to providing a lifetime of tranquility for Thoroughbreds whose racing careers were cut short by injury or who were not suitable for the demanding sport. With their tireless efforts, the VTP ensures these horses receive the care, love, and support they need and by attending their Annual Barn Party, you will directly contribute to the VTP’s mission and join them in setting the gold standard for Thoroughbred aftercare in Virginia.

  Suicide Prevention Network and Healing Arenas are hosting an event for all to join and walk in memory of anyone affected by suicide. A path of luminaries will represent our lost loved-ones and each attendee will have the option to walk the path with or without a therapy horse. Refreshments will be provided

Woodbine Aftercare Alliance Day

Woodbine Entertainment is pleased to welcome and recognize Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance and LongRun Thoroughbred Retirement Society as part of the third annual Aftercare Alliance Day, this Sunday, October 8, at Woodbine Racetrack. Representatives from Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will present the winning trophy for the Nearctic Stakes, and LongRun Thoroughbred Retirement Society representatives will do the same for the Algonquin Stakes. In 2022, the International Forum for the Aftercare of Racehorses recognized Woodbine’s efforts to bring attention and support Thoroughbred aftercare at its annual conference.

Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will be present this year at Maryland Million Day on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will be recognized, along with Maryland Jockey Club, with a named race on Maryland Million Day: The Maryland Jockey Club Stakes to Benefit Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance. Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will also be on-site as part of the VIP experience that was auctioned off earlier this year in the “Off to the Races” campaign, designed to promote the awareness of accredited aftercare.

Breeders’ Cup World Championships

Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will be present at Santa Anita Park this year for the 40th running of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, set to be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, and Saturday, November 4, 2023. Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance is one of the official charities, and the Official Aftercare Partner of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships. Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will have a booth set up during both days of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, where patrons are encouraged to stop by to learn more about accredited aftercare. Branded merchandise will be available in exchange for a donation. California Retirement Management Account (CARMA) will also be on-site and will have a retrained Thoroughbred at Santa Anita that fans can meet up close and in person. In addition to Friday and Saturday, Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will also be on-site Thursday morning during the early morning workouts near the famous Clocker’s Corner with branded merchandise and to answer questions about accredited aftercare. Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will also be represented with named races on both days of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships. On Friday, The FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Juvenile presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (G1) will close out the day. On Saturday, Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will have a named race, The Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Stakes (G2). Following both races, Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will be present at the Winner’s Circle to do a presentation to the winning connections. Post times for both races are to be determined. As part of FanDuel’s commitment to supporting accredited Thoroughbred aftercare, the sports-wagering digital cable and satellite television network has made a generous donation of $100,000 to Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.

Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga Partners with The American Legion Adirondack Post 70 to provide Free Italian meals to Veterans and their families provided by Rosina Food Products and The Bread Basket Bakery! Saratoga Springs, NY – Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga (THS), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Veterans through Equine Therapy, is proud to announce its partnership with The American Legion Adirondack Post 70, Rosina Food Products, and The Bread Basket Bakery. Together, we offer a heartfelt gesture of gratitude to our nation's Veterans by providing them with a free Italian meal. In recognition of the sacrifices made by our Veterans and their invaluable service to our country, Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga (THS) and the American Legion Adirondack Post 70 have joined forces to host a special event at The American Legion Adirondack Post 70 location. This event will take place on November 16th, where Veterans and their families are invited to enjoy a delicious Italian meal, provided with care and expertise by Rosina Food Products and complimented with a bountiful salad and dessert platter from The Bread Basket Bakery. This event is open to all Veterans and their families in our community. Reservations are required, and space is limited so be sure to secure your spot!
