Come join the Secretariat Center staff, volunteers, and current adoptable Thoroughbreds for a uniquely Kentucky experience! The Secretariat Center is excited to announce its latest “Movie Night Under the Stars” featuring the movie, Dreamer. Guests have one more opportunity for the year to watch a movie under the stars surrounded by a picturesque horse farm so get your tickets, grab a blanket, bring the family, and join us on the front lawn of The Secretariat Center with a statue of the great racehorse in the center of the action. The fun starts at 6 pm on October 1st (rain date October 2nd) with food for purchase from Salsarita's, Mr. Gyro, and Mister Softee Ice Cream and beverages from Blue Stallion Brewery. The kids will have a blast playing in the Keeneland Kid Zone, cuddling mini ponies, getting up close to a Lexington FD fire truck, and practicing their high jump over horse jumps for kids. The movie will start at approximately 7:30 pm. Popcorn is free and there will be special giveaways and raffles thanks to our generous sponsors: Breeders' Cup, Britton + Johnson, Morgan Equine, Magee's Baking Co., Dr. Gina Higgins, Lexington Equine Medical, Four Star Sales, Godolphin, Dever, Keeneland, Ballyrankin Stud, and Churchill Downs. Tickets for this unique experience are $20 per person ($10 for kids under 10) and are on sale now at www.secretariatcenter.org. All proceeds go toward supporting the Secretariat Center's mission of preparing off-track Thoroughbreds for happy, healthy, and successful post-track careers through rehabilitation and retraining. The Secretariat Center advocates for the athleticism and versatility of the Thoroughbred by providing a broad training foundation for its retired racehorses and educational horsemanship opportunities aimed at achieving harmonious adoption matches. Those interested in supporting the Secretariat Center's efforts through donation or sponsorship can contact Shelley Mann at executivedirector@secretariatcenter.org.
