Kicking off Kentucky Derby week is Champions Day on Tuesday, September 1 at Churchill Downs. The TAA will present the Champions Day Marathon Overnight Stakes.
Participants can contribute to the TAA through buying and selling. All sellers/owners will be charged .05% of the sales price on each horse sold as an aftercare assessment. Buyers will be billed .05% of the purchase price on behalf of the TAA, with participation voluntary. Fasig-Tipton will continue to contribute an additional .05% of the sales price on each horse sold.
Ocala Breeders' Sales Company enables buyers and consignors to contribute .005% (or $5 per every $1,000 transaction) to the TAA. Ocala Breeders' Sales Company contributes an additional .005% match.
All sellers/owners will be charged .05% of the sales price on each horse sold. Fasig-Tipton will continue to contribute .05% of the sales price on each horse sold at their respective auctions. Buyers will be billed .05% of the purchase price on behalf of the TAA, with participation voluntary.
The TAA is proud to be the official aftercare partner of the Breeders' Cup Nov. 6-7 at Keeneland. TAA fundraises to award annual grants to accredited Thoroughbred aftercare nonprofits. At this year’s Breeders’ Cup, the TAA is asking connections of Breeders’ Cup entrants to pledge a percentage of their potential Breeders’ Cup earnings to the TAA. In addition, the TAA has partnered with TVG to be a part of the TVG Breeders’ Cup Juvenile presented by the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (G1), the feature race on Future Stars Friday Nov. 6. As a seed money donor, the Breeders’ Cup has been a supporter of the TAA since its inception along with Keeneland and The Jockey Club.
