Here to help you celebrate Mardi Gras is our OTTB Tuesday featured horse, Le Jester!
‘Jester’ is a 2000 Kentucky-bred gelding who was adopted through TAA accredited organization, Illinois Equine Humane Center. Jester made an impressive 66 starts in his racing career, including a third place finish in the National Jockey Club Handicap (G3) at Hawthorne Racecourse. After his last race, in which he was ridden by jockey Scott Stevens, Jester’s owners retired him due to injury and placed him with the ILEHC. The plucky bay gelding has since found his forever home with adopter Cynthia, with the pair now working on learning the sport of dressage and enjoying each other’s company.
The Illinois Equine Humane Center was founded in 2008 with the idea that ‘Every horse has an owner. Every owner has a responsibility.’ The TAA accredited the ILEHC in 2014. For more information about the ILEHC, visit their website: www.ilehc.org/.
The Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Foundation (TAA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose goal is to accredit and fund organizations that provide aftercare for Thoroughbreds. For more information on the TAA, visit: http://thoroughbredaftercare.org/.
